Hmm.. as usual, I went home together with my friend..
We talked a lot.. and she suddenly asked me, "why people like to name their children with flowers name..? for example, Rose, Jasmine.. but nobody called Hibiscus..?"
The conversation continued till she realised that my name is also taken from a flower name.. "Lili"
It's supposed to be Lily in English..
Well.. I don't know why my parents named me Lili..
Based on my brothers' story, before I was born, and my mom knew she would (finally) has a daughter, she insisted to name me "Lili"..
My Chinese name is 何莉莉, and few people (including my parents) mentioned to me before, that there was a hongkong artist who has exactly same name as me.. " 何莉莉"..
Does it have a link..? Maybe.. Who knows that my parents probably were big fans of her.. =p
As for my last name.. "Ley Diana"
I don't know whether this is true or not.. but my brothers said, my parents intended to name me "Lili Lady Diana", well.. everyone knows about "Lady Diana", I suppose..
Then, when my parents went to register my name and got my birth certificate, there was typo error, causing "Lady Diana" became "Ley Diana".. Therefore, my full name has become "Lili Ley Diana"..
Beside that, "莉" on my Chinese name is taken from "茉莉花" which means Jasmine flower..
Lili = Lily
莉 = Jasmine
So, my name "Lili" means flower, and my Chinese name "莉" means flower as well..
Interesting? ^^
